Skills for life in Old Town, Swindon

Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week –  having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.

Every week we give 400 6-25 year olds in Old Town and Wichelstowe the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.

Everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your child’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it.

Sign up today to help your child discover their ‘thing’: from abseiling to coding to performance art and everything in between.

All age groups take part in a wide range of activities, which have recently included camps, a real-life Monopoly Run in London, a sleepover under the Concorde, sailing, kayaking, tomahawk throwing, archery, caving and air rifle shooting.

Do add your child’s name to our waiting list or let us know if you would like more information about volunteering with us

We have four Scout Groups in the area, with 12th Swindon Scouts based at the Moose Hall in Eastcott Road, 6th Swindon Scouts in Ashford Road, 18th Swindon Scouts in Charlotte Mews and 3rd Swindon Scouts at the Stoweaway Centre in Wichelstowe. You’d be welcome to join the adventure today, whether as a child or as an adult volunteer.
